Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Manager

SamAuto (Samarkand Automobile Factory) is a manufacturer of ISUZU trucks, buses, pickups and special-purpose vehicles in Uzbekistan and part of an international group. We are looking for an Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Manager to build a workplace safety system in line with international standards. Responsibilities: • Develop, implement and continuously improve the occupational health and safety management system across the plant • Implement and maintain ISO 45001 • Identify hazards and assess occupational risks, develop and implement risk control measures • Organize induction and periodic safety briefings, OHS training and knowledge assessments • Conduct regular inspections and audits of workshops and production areas, issue corrective orders and track their completion • Investigate accidents and incidents, carry out root cause analysis and define corrective actions • Ensure provision of PPE and compliance with fire and industrial safety requirements • Oversee the safe operation of high-risk equipment: lifting equipment, pressure vessels, welding and painting operations • Prepare OHS reports for management and government authorities, support external inspections (labour inspectorate, industrial safety authorities, etc.) • Develop and update internal OHS documentation: instructions, procedures and programs • Promote a strong safety culture among employees and line managers • Lead the team of OHS engineers Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in engineering; specialized training or certification in occupational health and safety • 5+ years of experience in OHS, including at least 2 years in a managerial role • Experience in a manufacturing environment (automotive, machinery, metallurgy, oil and gas) • Knowledge of the legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan on occupational health, industrial and fire safety • Experience in accident investigation and working with regulatory authorities • Proficiency in MS Office • Fluent Russian and Uzbek Nice to have: • Experience implementing ISO 45001 or working for an international company • Working proficiency in English • Turkish language skills • NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent certification We offer: • Timely payment of wages, quarterly bonuses; • Company transportation/Full lunch; • Official employment; • Stable and competitive salary; • Work experience at a large international company.
